Staten Island’s ‘West Brighton’ NYCHA Complex to Receive $100M in Facility Upgrades

The West Brighton residential campus in Staten Island is set to undergo a major transformation thanks to a $100 million investment to be carried out by a consortium of organizations led by the New York City Housing Authority. The project will involve collaborating with BFC Partners, CB Emmanuel Realty, and non-profit organization Catholic Homes New York to complete a range of capital improvements aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the 1,400 residents who call West Brighton I and II home. The development will encompass 14 buildings, which house a total of 574 apartments.

The scope of work will include upgrades to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms. The project will also involve improving electrical systems and adding new lighting fixtures throughout the buildings. Additionally, the consortium will work to update common areas and outdoor spaces to create more welcoming and functional spaces for residents. The project is expected to be completed within the next few years and will represent a significant investment in the community, providing residents with a safer, more comfortable, and more modern living environment.
