Permits Filed for 261 Walton Avenue in Mott Haven, The Bronx

Situated between East 138th Street and East 140th Street, 261 Walton Avenue will soon be home to a 13-story mixed-use building with market-rate and affordable housing. Located in Mott Haven, The Bronx near the 138 Street-Grand Concourse subway station, the site is serviced by the 4 and 5 trains.

The proposed new building will replace a six-story building with 195 units. 65 unit be rented at market-rate, while the remaining units will be designated as inclusionary housing (with an average size of 830 square feet).

The proposed structure will comprise of 181,092 square feet, with 161,974 square feet dedicated to residential space and the remaining 19,118 square feet designated for commercial use.

The development is being spearheaded by JCAL Development’s Joshua Weissman and designed by Dattner Architects.

The exact timeline for completion of the project is not yet known.
