Plans for a new seven-story residential building at 1932 McGraw Avenue in Parkchester, The Bronx has been unveiled based on recent building permits issued by the city. Situated between Pugsley Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue, the lot is in close proximity to the Parkchester subway station serviced by the 6 train.
The proposed development will reach a height of 65 feet and will offer 13,560 square feet of residential space, with 23 units planned. Based on an average unit size of 589 square feet, the majority of these units are expected to be rentals. The building will be constructed using steel and will also feature a cellar, a 20-foot-long rear yard, and six open parking spaces.
Located in the eastern part of the Bronx, the Parkchester neighborhood was developed as a planned community in the 1940s as a housing complex to accommodate returning World War II veterans and their families.
Demolition permits were filed in April 2022, and the land is currently vacant. An estimated completion date has not yet been announced.
Mastrogiacomo Engineering has been appointed as the architect of record. The site is owned by Randylynn McManus, under the 1932 McGraw Avenue LLC.
