Permits Filed for 1 Wythe Avenue in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for the construction of a seven-story commercial building at 1 Wythe Avenue in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn. The lot is situated near the Nassau Avenue subway station, which is serviced by the G train, and is bordered by Wythe Avenue to the northwest, Banker Street to the east, and North 15th Street to the southwest.

The proposed seven-story commercial building will provide 78,842 square feet of commercial and industrial space and will be constructed using concrete. The site’s parking lot was demolished in May 2019 to make way for the new development.

The owner behind the applications at 1 Wythe Avenue is Louis Handler of Keren Star with involvement including StudiosC Architecture.

Although an estimated completion date has not yet been announced, this project is expected to generate significant interest in the coming months.

Greenpoint’s thriving commercial corridors, tree-lined streets, and waterfront parks make it an attractive location for new development.

Greenpoint has experienced significant development in recent years, with new luxury apartment buildings and trendy restaurants and shops emerging alongside historic brownstones. The neighborhood is renowned for its industrial past, historic architecture, and vibrant community, including Polish immigrants who have contributed to the area’s culture and cuisine.
