Housing Lottery Launches for Senior Apartments at 883 Bryant Avenue in Hunts Point, The Bronx

An affordable housing lottery is now open for applications for 883 Bryant Avenue, an eight-story mixed-use building located in Hunts Point, The Bronx. This development was spearheaded by Greg Harvey of Masani Holding Company Corp. and designed by Gerald Caliendo, and it boasts 40 residential units that are now available for interested individuals.

These units are designated for residents who earn 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $52,286 to $85,440.

The building is equipped with various amenities, including a shared laundry room, common area Wi-Fi, a recreation room, and a security guard. Each unit is fitted with modern features such as charging outlets with USB ports, smart controls for heating and cooling, intercoms, air conditioning, patios or balconies, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes. However, tenants are responsible for paying for their electricity usage.

Hunts Point is a neighborhood located in the South Bronx of New York City. Historically, the area was known for its industrial activity and was home to many factories and warehouses. Today, Hunts Point is still a major hub for food distribution, with the Hunts Point Terminal Market being one of the largest wholesale food markets in the world.

Prospective tenants must meet the income and household size requirements to be eligible to apply for these apartments. The building offers 40 studios with a monthly rent of $1,448 for incomes ranging from $52,286 to $85,440. Applications can be postmarked or submitted online until June 26, 2023.
